John Porter, Director of Missions and Outreach, has a life-long commitment to First Federated Church. He accepted Christ as his savior as a young child at a revival meeting at the church, and John’s father, the late Roy Porter, served the church for more than 20 years in the same capacity John now serves. John says his mother, the late Dorothy Porter, was his most valued mentor.
Having served four years overseas with Operation Mobilization, John has honed his talents and spiritual gifts. He’s also worked in secular jobs and been involved in several inner-city ministries. He’s had the opportunity to work with people from a variety of background and situations.
