I thought it would be helpful to share with you where our preaching series will be going in the coming weeks. Below are three mini-series titles along with the message topics and relevant Scriptures.

Milestones

A “milestone” can be used when talking about distances between two points or the marking of important events in a person’s life. This three week study will look at three milestones that mark Jesus’ life.
January 3 | Growing Like Jesus, Luke 2:52
January 10 | Jesus Faced and Defeated Temptation, Matthew 4:1–11
January 17 | Jesus: Message, Ministers and Ministry, Matthew 4:17–25

Jesus Speaks to the Issues of Our Lives

Proverbs 14:12 says, There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Human nature leads us to define life’s issues in our terms so we can feel comfortable with the way we choose to live. Jesus defined the issues based on the wisdom of God. We want to understand what Jesus said about important issues and align ourselves with His truth.
January 24 | The Sanctity of Life / The Scope of Sexual Sin, Matthew 5:20–30
January 31 | The Sacredness of the Marital Covenant / The Sincerity of Our Word, Matthew 5:31–37
February 7 | The Stupidity of Vengeance / The Sensibility of Loving Your Fellow Man, Matthew 5:38–48

Portrait of an Amazing Man

Our Savior is unique in every way: connected to God in prayer, friend of sinners, worker of miracles and lightning rod of controversy. We will examine Jesus from these differing angles to increase our understanding of His life and work.
February 14 | Jesus: Man of Prayer, Luke 11:1–4. (Danny Lightner)
February 21 | Jesus: Friend of Sinners, Luke 7:34
February 28 | Jesus: Man of Miracles, Various Scriptures
March 7 | Jesus: Uniter~Divider, Matthew 10:34–38
